Tsvetana Pironkova





Tsvetana Kirilova Pironkova (born 13 September 1987) is a Bulgarian tennis player. She was born and lives in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Pironkova is right-handed and plays with a two-handed backhand. She achieved her career high of world no. 31 on 13 September 2010. She is best known for defeating Venus Williams three times at Grand Slam tournaments. She is currently the Bulgarian No. 1, and has won six ITF titles in her career. She has been recognized as one of the most beautiful women in sports by MSN.

Erika Cristiano Dos Santos


Érika Cristiano dos Santos (born 4 February 1988 in São Paulo), commonly known as Érika, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a defender for Santos and the Brazilian Women's National Team.

Before being drafted by FC Gold Pride in the 2008 WPS International Draft, Érika was a member of Santos FC. Despite appearing in 7 games for FC Gold Pride, Érika was deemed surplus to requirements at season's close by Albertin Montoya.

Érika has represented Brazil at both the U-20 and senior international levels.

Josefine Oqvist



Josefine "Jossan" Öqvist (born July 23, 1983) is a female footballer for Tyresö FF and the Swedish national team. She scored a critical goal at the 86' minute in the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup semifinals against Canada to put them through to the finals. She was named the Swedish Rookie of the Year in 2003.

While her primary position is a forward, she was named as a midfielder for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Along with Caroline Jönsson, Öqvist tore her ACL before the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup and was consequently removed from the roster to recover.

She has attracted attention for a photoshoot in the magazine, Slitz in the Spring of 2004. During the 2011 World Cup, video of Jossan changing jerseys with and kissing a German male fan after the match with North Korea became a very popular YouTube hit.

After the 2008 season, Swedish giants Umeå IK wanted Öqvist. Instead she signed a new two-year contract with Linköping. In 2011 she signed with the top attendance team in Sweden, Tyresö FF. Tyresö boasts three members of the Swedish National Team along with players from the Brazilian and Dutch National Teams.

Öqvist was a member of the Sweden team that won a bronze medal at the 2011 World Cup and played in all the matches. On 16 July 2011, she received a red card in the 3rd place game against France after clashing with Sonia Bompastor, but Sweden went on to win 2:1 despite the numerical inferiority.

Christina Vukicevic



Ljubica Christina Vukicevic (born 18 June 1987 in Lørenskog) is a Norwegian hurdler of Serbian and Norwegian descent. She represents Ski IL, and is coached by her father Petar Vukićević, who participated for Yugoslavia in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Her gold medal in the 2003 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Paris was her first international medal. She finished fifth at the 2004 World Junior Championships, and won a silver medal at the 2005 European Junior Championships in Kaunas. She was forced to take a prolonged break during the summer of 2005 due to a knee-injury and the following surgery At the 2006 World Junior Championships she took the silver medal with the time 13.34 seconds, a national junior record. She made her senior global debut at the 2007 World Championships and ran a personal best of 13.07 seconds in the heats. Since 2004 she has been the Norwegian champion, last in 2008 with a time of 13.20 seconds. She has later lowered her personal best time to 13.05 seconds, achieved during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. On the 60 meter hurdles she has 8.03 seconds set on an international meeting in Düsseldorf 2008. She just missed out on the podium with a fourth place finish at the 2009 European Indoor Championships. She won her first international gold medal at the 2009 European U23 Championships in Kaunas, with a time of 12.99 seconds. She lowered her best that year to 12.74, which she achieved in Hengelo. She competed at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics but she could not reach heights she had in Hengelo, and was knocked out in the semifinals after running 13.00 seconds. She started the 2010 season by setting a new best in the 60 metres hurdles with a run of 7.94 seconds – a Norwegian record. She narrowly missed a place in the final at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. At the 2010 European Team Championships she won the bronze medal and came fourth at the 2010 European Athletics Championships later on, recording her season's best of 12.78 seconds in the final. Her 2011 opened just as it had the previous year, with a national record over 60 m hurdles (7.92 seconds). She set her sights on a medal at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships, hoping to go beyond her fourth place at the 2009 event. She improved her mark further to 7.90 seconds at the BW Bank Meeting in February.

In March 2011 Vukicevic and Andreas Thorkildsen announced in Norwegian media that they no longer were a couple.

Laure Boulleau





Laure Boulleau (born 22 October 1986 in Clermont-Ferrand) is a French football player who currently plays for French club Paris Saint-Germain of the Division 1 Féminine. Bolleau primarily plays as a defender and is a member of the France women's national football team.

Maria Sharapova





Maria Yuryevna Sharapova (born April 19, 1987) is a Russian professional tennis player. As of August 13, 2012 she is ranked world #2. A United States resident since 1994, Sharapova has won 27 WTA singles titles, including four Grand Slam singles titles. She has also won the year-end WTA Tour Championships in 2004. The Women's Tennis Association has ranked Sharapova World No. 1 in singles on five separate occasions, for a total of 21 weeks. She became the world No. 1 for the first time on August 22, 2005, and regained the ranking for the fifth time on June 11, 2012. She has been in seven Grand Slam finals with a record of 4–3. Sharapova made her professional breakthrough in 2004 at age 17, when she defeated two-time defending champion and top seed Serena Williams in the 2004 Wimbledon final for her first Grand Slam singles title. She entered the top 10 of the WTA Rankings with the win. She subsequently won major titles at the 2006 US Open and 2008 Australian Open, before being forced out of the game for ten months by a recurring shoulder injury, which ultimately required surgery in October 2008. Sharapova returned to the game in May 2009, returning to the top 10 in March 2011 and capturing her fourth grand slam title at the 2012 French Open. By doing so, it made her the 6th woman in the Open Era to complete the career grand slam. In the same year, she won an Olympic silver medal in the London 2012 Olympics, losing the final to Serena Williams. Sharapova has been featured in a number of modeling assignments, including a feature in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has been featured in many advertisements, including for Nike, Prince and Canon, and is the face of several fashion houses, most notably Cole Haan. Sharapova was the most searched-for athlete on Yahoo! in 2005 and 2008. Since February 2007, she has been a United Nations Development Programme Goodwill Ambassador, concerned specifically with the Chernobyl Recovery and Development Programme. In June 2011, she was named one of the "30 Legends of Women's Tennis: Past, Present and Future" by Time, and in March 2012 was named one of the "100 Greatest of All Time" by Tennis Channel.

Amanda Beard





Amanda Ray Beard (born October 29, 1981) is an American swimmer and a seven-time Olympic medalist (two gold, four silver, one bronze). She is a former world record holder in the 200-meter breaststroke (long course). Beard's success have earned her the American Swimmer of the Year Award twice. She has won a total of twenty-one medals in major international competition, five gold, thirteen silver, and three bronze spanning the Olympics, the World Championships, the Pan Pacific Championships, and the Summer Universiade.
