Maria Sharapova





Maria Yuryevna Sharapova (born April 19, 1987) is a Russian professional tennis player. As of August 13, 2012 she is ranked world #2. A United States resident since 1994, Sharapova has won 27 WTA singles titles, including four Grand Slam singles titles. She has also won the year-end WTA Tour Championships in 2004. The Women's Tennis Association has ranked Sharapova World No. 1 in singles on five separate occasions, for a total of 21 weeks. She became the world No. 1 for the first time on August 22, 2005, and regained the ranking for the fifth time on June 11, 2012. She has been in seven Grand Slam finals with a record of 4–3. Sharapova made her professional breakthrough in 2004 at age 17, when she defeated two-time defending champion and top seed Serena Williams in the 2004 Wimbledon final for her first Grand Slam singles title. She entered the top 10 of the WTA Rankings with the win. She subsequently won major titles at the 2006 US Open and 2008 Australian Open, before being forced out of the game for ten months by a recurring shoulder injury, which ultimately required surgery in October 2008. Sharapova returned to the game in May 2009, returning to the top 10 in March 2011 and capturing her fourth grand slam title at the 2012 French Open. By doing so, it made her the 6th woman in the Open Era to complete the career grand slam. In the same year, she won an Olympic silver medal in the London 2012 Olympics, losing the final to Serena Williams. Sharapova has been featured in a number of modeling assignments, including a feature in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has been featured in many advertisements, including for Nike, Prince and Canon, and is the face of several fashion houses, most notably Cole Haan. Sharapova was the most searched-for athlete on Yahoo! in 2005 and 2008. Since February 2007, she has been a United Nations Development Programme Goodwill Ambassador, concerned specifically with the Chernobyl Recovery and Development Programme. In June 2011, she was named one of the "30 Legends of Women's Tennis: Past, Present and Future" by Time, and in March 2012 was named one of the "100 Greatest of All Time" by Tennis Channel.

Amanda Beard





Amanda Ray Beard (born October 29, 1981) is an American swimmer and a seven-time Olympic medalist (two gold, four silver, one bronze). She is a former world record holder in the 200-meter breaststroke (long course). Beard's success have earned her the American Swimmer of the Year Award twice. She has won a total of twenty-one medals in major international competition, five gold, thirteen silver, and three bronze spanning the Olympics, the World Championships, the Pan Pacific Championships, and the Summer Universiade.

Anna Sergeyevna Kournikova (born 7 June 1981) is a Russian retired professional tennis player. Her beauty and celebrity status made her one of the best known tennis stars worldwide, despite her never winning a WTA singles title. At the peak of her fame, fans looking for images of Kournikova made her name one of the most common search strings on Google. Although reaching No. 8 in the world in 2000, she never won a WTA Title in singles. Kournikova's forte has been doubles, where she has at times been the World No. 1 player. With Martina Hingis as her partner, she won Grand Slam titles in Australia in 1999 and 2002. The doubles team referred to themselves as the "Spice Girls of Tennis". Kournikova's professional tennis career has been curtailed, and possibly ended, by serious back and spinal problems in the past several years. She resides in Miami Beach, Florida, and plays in occasional exhibitions and in doubles for the St. Louis Aces of World Team Tennis. She was a new trainer for season 12 of the television show The Biggest Loser, replacing Jillian Michaels, but did not return for season 13. In addition to her tennis and television work, Kournikova serves as a Global Ambassador for Population Services International's Five & Alive program, which addresses health crises facing children under the age of five and their families.

Alana Blanchard










Alana Rene Blanchard (born March 5, 1990) is an American professional surfer. At 22 years of age, Blanchard has gained fame as "one of the best female surfers." Alana surfs on the ASP World Tour. Alana is involved in designing Rip Curl bikinis. She is best friends with fellow surfer Bethany Hamilton, and was present when Hamilton suffered the shark attack that cost her an arm. She is played by actress Lorraine Nicholson in the 2011 film Soul Surfer.

Ellen Hoog (born March 26, 1986 in Bloemendaal) is a Dutch female field hockey player and the winner of 2 Olympic gold medals and a World title together with the Dutch National Women's Team. She is also a member of the She is a striker. In 2004 she made her debut in the national team. She has played 127 matches for the national team in which she has scored 32 times. She is also currently a member of the first ladies team of Amsterdam. In August 2005, she became European Champion in Dublin (IRL). In December of the same year she won the Champions Trophy in Canberra (AUS) with the Dutch National Women's Team. She was also part of the Dutch squad that became World Champion at the 2006 Women's Hockey World Cup. Her father died from cancer a week after the European Championship victory in Ireland. After his death she had difficulties picking up her normal life again, but regained the motivation to start playing when the new season started in October 2005. In 2012 she was the fist player to decide a match on a major championschips, an Olympic semi final, with a penalty shootout.

Leryn Franco





Leryn Dahiana Franco Steneri (born 1 March 1982 in Asunción) is a Paraguayan model and athlete. She specializes in the javelin throw and became an Internet sensation during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Her personal best throw is 57.77 metres, achieved in June 2012 in Barquisimeto. She is perhaps more famous for her beauty and modeling than athletic ability and has appeared, most notably, in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Raised in the capital of Asunción, she broke the national records for the under-17 age group in 1998 for both the javelin and triple jump. After winning bronze medals in 1999 and 2000, Franco won the South American Junior Championship javelin title in 2001. Franco was the South American under-23 champion in 2004. Her performances at the world level are 24th at the 2003 World Championship and 42nd out of 45 at the Athens Olympics. Although she set a personal best in 2007, she finished 12th (last) at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro. In 2008, she competed in the Beijing Olympics.

Antonija Misura






Antonija Mišura (born 19 May 1988) is a Croatian professional basketball player. She plays for Croatia women's national basketball team. She has represented the national team in several Eurobasket Women competitions. She got bronze medal at the 2009 Mediterranean Games. Mišura was proclaimed miss of the 2009 Mediterranean Games, and the American Bleacher Report proclaimed her to be the most beautiful female competitive at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
